Aracruz Celulose holds Special Shareholders Meeting regarding responsibility for derivative operations

A Special Shareholders Meeting was held by Aracruz Celulose this Monday (November 24) in Aracruz (ES) with the participation of representatives of 96.5% of its voting capital. The meeting was called to discuss a proposal for filing a responsibility lawsuit involving the compny's former CFO, Isac Zagury.

The shareholders approved the proposal in view of the "damages caused to the company due to the contracting of derivative operations above the limits foreseen in its Financial Policy." The decision was taken after the presentation of reports delivered to the Board of Directors that served as the basis for convoking the meeting. The company's management, along with specialized attorneys, will now evaluate the appropriate manner to formulate the lawsuit.
